This holiday weekend has been very calm. I downloaded a few hundred songs to include some American Idol stuff (I know that I am not 7 years old, but there were a few good tunes that got remade). I went to breakfast with Michelle and her family at IHOP and that was grand too. Ironically I am not a huge car nut but just so happens I have two blog posts in a row concerning motor vehicles.

I am hanging out with Tim and Michelle today and then over to the parents house on Monday. I think I may watch some of the race, but unlike the derby, I could careless who makes it to the final lap. Perhaps grill some hamburgers and eat some lime sherbet with chocolate topping.

This will be the 93rd Indy 500 race and the 64th uninterrupted race .... the race was first televised in HD in 2007. It has been on the radio since 1953. Fun facts about the history of the race. 3.2 million bricks once lined the track. Admission was one buck too. I have always wondered what the different days were and then even more importantly how the cars got positioned ... well now I know ..    
On pole day, positions 1-11 are open for qualifying,  On the second day, positions 12-22 are open for qualifying,  On the third day, positions 23-33 are open for qualifying,  On bump day, bumping begins immediately once the field is filled to 33 cars. At least this is how I understand the facts to be ... I could be wrong.
