Recently, USA Today, the newspaper that is so pretty with its bright colors and easy to sound out sentences, produced a list of the 10 shows that were so appealable no matter when we saw them ... just a universal liking, a social moment of acceptance.
Here is the list:
Leave It To Beaver
The Brady Bunch
The Cosby Show
Thirtystomething
Seinfeld
Beverly Hills 90210
Friends
Sex and the City
American Idol
Grey's Anatomy
Well, I can say that I wanted 80% of the shows listed. Though I enjoy American Idol, I am not sure it would be great to rent the DVD of Series 2 and feel the passion that I did week to week. I think a few shows like I Love Lucy or Cheers would have made my list. Heck, here is my list of 10 shows that have universal appeal to me:
I Love Lucy
Cheers
Keeping Up Appearances
Arrested Development
Golden Girls
Law and Order SVU
Leave it to Beaver
Murphy Brown
Designing Women
MAD-TV
These are the shows that I can watch anytime the re-run hits the small screen. Great writing, or great performing or simply easy to enjoy. What shows would have made your list?

Re: Making your way in the world today, takes everything you've got ...
We have the whole I Love Lucy set. I know the words to the song. (then again, I know the words to "Bonanza" as well. Murphy Brown I loved. Dark Shadows was great. I also watched Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure, hmmm...can't remember the rest.
Sadly now it is all about Hannah Montana.
Have a great time in Indy - we were just there, but doubt you'll be headed to the Children's Museum.
