Yesterday was a gloomy fall day but that just means it was a great day for football....and football it was - Michigan against Indiana. At the crack of dawn, Kim and I ventured from Fort Wayne through the Maine fog and mist, though it was not Maine, it felt like it and made great time on the road. We wondered the campus a bit prior to taking on the stadium and the crowd of 108,000 people - the largest group gathered on a college campus woohoo. Anyway, the mist continued for a good portion of the game. I think my skin felt as if I was at a high end spa.

The game went back and forth and was a solid matching of two good teams - and when I say good I mean, they were both just equally good as they were bad - but alas, the Michigan Wolverines came out victorious and the ride home was bittersweet. Poor Kim, a IU at heart but she left Ann Arbor with a positive feeling of the Big House. We did stop at Palio to rest and refresh. Our waiter was less interested in being a server than perhaps Paris Hilton on , My Simple Life. Let me just snapshot a few things - first after Kim points out her glass is cracked down the side, he says he will bring her another one - but leaves the cracked glass on the table. The complementary bread that everyone else received at their table - not a quick one to offer us any. Empty water glasses are just for decorations on the table. When the charge slip returns in the black case, it is tossed and slid across the table.

It did feel that we were quite a bother for him, because when not waiting on our table he would be dancing around the restaurant with a few servers and giggling and having a real hoot of a time. The asiago cheese dip was wonderful and has been a staple every time I go, and this made up for our uninspired waiter who probably had aspirations of doing pole dancing rather than earning the tip.
