The year continues to wrap down and the new one is just on the horizon. Woohoo! Woke up to a blanket of white, and ah yes, the seasons begin to change. Perhaps a couple inches of snow fell, but it did not stop a flurry of activity that was in store for me ....

Well, last night we went to Paula's for dinner with two amazing friends, Deb and Rick! Dinner spanned three hours and was a spectacular spread of food. I do not know if it is possible to have a bad dinner at Paula's. Every meal, every visit is consistent and enjoyable. Nothing can top the service which Karen provides. Totally love her, she is a one woman dynamo - watch out Oprah, your replacement has been found. Following dinner, we returned to their home for outstanding homemade desserts, drinks and to see her 15 foot Christmas tree. Her tree is a vibrant and is packed with a powerful emotion. Over a thousand ornaments bring this tree to life!

Yesterday was the first of what will be a whirlwind Christmas tour - visiting friends and family to share egg nog and cheer. Have bottle will travel, actually this is a joke, because the idea of eggnog just churns like butter in me. The snow helped to get me in the spirit of the season. I spent some time in the kitchen, I made chocolate cups filled with a coconut cream and each dessert cup was spiked with raspberry, chocolate or carmel. The other batch was a peppermint white chocolate spiked with the same three flavors. The three dozen dessert cups was my contribution to the first holiday gathering of the season.

Ahead of me, remains cleaning the house, wrapping some gifts and checking my list twice. I still have a few items on the list that are in the hands of the postmaster. Sure hope they arrive in time to make this holiday season complete.

Tomorrow I am in Indianapolis to tour Riley Hospital. Part of my service role to our community (not that it is court appointed, but it is a chosen vocation of mine) is to help with the raising funds, awareness and education of the needs that Riley fills in our families and extended families. The week will be a rapid one with just two work days, before a vacation day to have Christmas Eve. Hope everyone has a great week, stay tuned for more wrap up moments of the year which was ...
