Blog entry from August 2008: The year seems to be going so fast, and the number of days left in 2009 is less than a handful. As with most things in the world of entertainment, you get repeats to see some of the better things that have happened (or just a space filler) .... The Best Of ...
Perhaps I was living in a box, but yesterday I found out that Ponderosa closed up shop!
The location that was near Coliseum and Coldwater - hosted a buffet and you could add a steak (not sure what kind of steak) for just pennies on the dollar.
Never quite understood the fascination with this place. As a buffet, it was weak and as a steak house (oh, someone pick me up - I laugh outloud). Perhaps I have just become a food snob, but this place should have closed many years ago.
I recall when Sizzler was just down the road, and that place was not much better! I think when I want good old fashion beef - nice chunk of beef - I would never have put Ponderosa in the top 100 spots in Fort Wayne to find one. So, sadly it closes but I am not to distraught.
So, my guess is many people are without places to go for their anniversary.... but I don't know them either - but they may have celebrated one last time after the Three Rivers Festival.
