This weekend we took a road trip to that unknown destination. The adventure took us to Columbus, Ohio.
We departed at ten after eight in the morning. Stopped for breakfast and began heading to Ohio. With every mile being traveled into Ohio, the heavier the fog became. For three hours of driving in the white cloud of soup, we saw nothing but the lines on the road. So, the aspiration of pulling off the road or to go down side streets never presented itself. This made for a nerve wracking drive with a nice tension headache.
Once in Columbus, found a hotel - the Residence Inn by Marriott. Nice and clean, affordable and in the heart of downtown. Well, that does not mean much because their downtown resembled our downtown. The weekend meant restaurants closed up and few stores open. The bus traffic was in high demand there, a bit different than our city. We did walk around for a few hours. Took a few dozen pictures but nothing to write home about, err write a blog about.
The welcome break away from life was great. The goal to have a great photo shoot not so realistic. The drive home was deja-vu to the ride there ... and I have never been happier to be at home than I was yesterday afternoon.
