I think I have heard the newest stupid option  - selling liquor at Walgreen's.

According to an article in the newspaper:

The ongoing fight between the state’s package liquor stores and other retail stores that sell alcohol is expected to spill over into today’s meeting of the Allen County Alcoholic Beverage Commission.

The local ABC is scheduled to consider applications for liquor licenses for 13 Walgreen's locations. Representatives of the package store industry have argued that the state is above its quota on liquor licenses and is seeking a freeze on new licenses until the courts can weigh the issue. Some of those representatives may well attend today’s meeting to argue against the Walgreen's licenses.

Right now I believe we have enough options in town to find a case of beer or a bottle of vodka. Do the neighborhood Walgreen's need to sell it too? I get so upset when I hear how one side is attempting to stop drunk driving, to stop public intoxication but then offer more locations for people to get all hooked up with more liquor. I come clean to say that I am not an advocate for daily drinking, and social drinking is kept at bay, but still is it really necessary that we offer Walgreen's as the next stop? Why not Wendy's or Subway? Some people can start early and kill more on the roads before we get home from work.
