Well, history may repeat itself as the recording studio may once again have a mass of vocal high profile performers come together to sing, again, We Are The World.
It was 25 years ago that the song brought some relief to Africa. Now the hope is to aid Haiti. Okay, let me just say, if you are not going to bring back Tina Turner, I ain't all whippy about your new rendition, but that is just me being sour.
More along that note, I think I would have wished that the song would have benefited our own health care! I wished it would have been invested to help rebuild our own cities in shambles ... Detroit! I think it is nice that us, Americans, lend a hand to help others but I do think that helping one another is where charity should begin.
I do get it. I understand that nearly 1 in 8 people died from the earthquake. I also understand that less than that have health care in the United States. Employment in Detroit is hovering around 1 out every 2 have a job. So, my rant is that I am glad that we get some new music, but I think that we are going overboard helping others when we do so little to help ourselves in the United States.
