Well, winter finally came to Fort Wayne. It sure took its time getting here, after all, it is February and the little ground hog has peaked out and went back in for at least six more weeks.
The weather predictions were a massive blizzard for everyone in the midwest and eastern coastal region, except Fort Wayne. Somehow we were just going to get a smidgen of the white stuff. They predicted three or four inches. The winds would be strong and this would lend to some nice drifting of the snow. The prediction of a 9am start was way delayed, as it did not start to snow in Fort Wayne until 4:00 p.m. Within an hour, the wind was whipping those flakes around something good.
The normal drive of 20 minutes from one side of town to the other became 40 and the normal 20 minute drive south became 60. It was a hell of a mess for a tad of time, but once home it was a beautiful sight to see. Love when the snow is flying up from the ground rather than straight down, makes you feel like you are living in a snow globe.
This morning the front door had a beautiful airbrushed quality. Something a great painter would have done, but not really certain why they would have painted our home, but anyways, it looked wonderful until I opened the door and the dogs went running through it like it was a race to a dog bone. Oh well, I still have the back yard to look at, until the birds wake up.
