Even at the ripe old age of 41, I still seem to gravitate to my parents when something goes wrong. Some would view this as I am not able to handle problems on my own, but others find themselves in the same boat where when a question aries (that just can not be found out by goggling it) we call our parents.
I am not one that asks for money, or asks for stuff for the house or new clothes or any of those things. My needs are how do you fix blank.
Well, this weekend in the height of a gourmet dinner, my garbage disposal quit working. The joy of this moment, with a farmer's sink, and the water not going down the drain, does not help when over 100 dishes needed to be washed. Luckily, just a half dozen states away, a simple phone call to my parents and the dishwasher was fixed.
There would have been a time that I would have hated to follow the advice of my dad, but it seems that I have found a harmony we both see that we both are good people and really add to value. I am so blessed that I have either matured enough or lost the chip on my shoulder to recognize the wealth that can be shared by being opened minded.
Hope everyone has a second chance to do it right, I found out that I have and now I can wash those 100 dishes. Woohoo the joys of learning.

Re: Fix it ... whatever it is
Hey Mark. Isn't it great to be able to do that? If you have questions and can't get to your dad, you could also call Brian (He's an electrical engineer) -- he is very handy that way!
